Carlos Alcaraz has climbed to the top of the tennis world after his Australian Open victory, becoming the youngest man ever to complete a Career Grand Slam.

With seven majors now to his name, there’s growing talk among fans and pundits that he could eventually surpass Novak Djokovic’s record.

Right now, there’s no question he’s the dominant force in the sport. He currently holds a nearly 3,000-point lead over Jannik Sinner, who sits second in the rankings.

Despite everything he’s achieved already, Alcaraz hasn’t forgotten the tougher moments early on. Even with his success now, those experiences still stick with him.

Carlos Alcaraz, speaking on Bryson DeChambeau’s YouTube channel, shared some of the tough moments he has experienced during his career.

Despite having gone up against some of the best in the sport, including Djokovic and Sinner, he pointed to three lesser-known players who caused him the most frustration.

“I experienced a few times that I was really frustrated, where the other player was playing unbelievable and I couldn’t do anything,” Alcaraz said.

Dimitrov and Gaston both beat him in straight sets, while his match against Goffin saw him take an early lead before falling to one of his more surprising losses.

Alcaraz to feature in ATP 1000 event, returns to Indian Wells

After pulling out of the Rotterdam Open, Carlos Alcaraz’s plans have started to come into focus.

The world number one is expected to make his return at the Qatar Open before heading back to Indian Wells, where he’s now been named on the player entry list.

Alcaraz has had strong results in California over the past three years. His only defeat came in 2025 when Jack Draper got the better of him in the semi-finals.

The Spaniard had claimed back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024, both times beating Daniil Medvedev in the final.

Indian Wells is set for March 4-15 and remains one of the top tournaments outside of tennis’ four Grand Slams.
