Taylor Fritz’s only win over Carlos Alcaraz came during the 2025 Laver Cup.

Fritz, who was sixth in the world at the time, put together a strong performance to beat Alcaraz 6-3, 6-2 in San Francisco.

Since then, Alcaraz has taken both of their meetings, with wins in the Japan Open final and again during the ATP Finals group stage. They could meet again soon, with both players set to feature in next year’s Laver Cup event.

The Laver Cup is set to welcome back two major names in 2026, with Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz both confirmed to be taking part.

Both players are scheduled to take part in the event, which will be hosted at London’s O2 Arena. The news was announced on Tuesday morning, not long after Alcaraz confirmed his withdrawal from the Davis Cup Finals.

If they do end up facing off in London, Alcaraz will be looking to avenge his loss from last year’s event, where Team World came out on top behind strong performances from the likes of Alex de Minaur and Joao Fonseca. So far, Team Europe holds a slight edge with five titles compared to Team World’s three.

Alcaraz’s debut win at the Laver Cup

Carlos Alcaraz took part in his first Laver Cup back in 2024. After losing his opening doubles match with Alexander Zverev, he responded well by beating Ben Shelton in singles before joining Casper Ruud to win a doubles match against Shelton and Frances Tiafoe.

He then secured the tie for Team Europe on day three, overcoming Taylor Fritz 6-2, 7-5. Team Europe went on to defeat Team World 13-11, securing their fifth Laver Cup crown.
