Ancelotti backs Arsenal for the Premier League title
Arsenal stunned Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in last season’s Champions League quarter-finals, winning 5-1 on aggregate.
It’s no surprise, then, that the Italian coach is backing the Gunners to lift the Premier League trophy in May.
Speaking to Ally McCoist in a clip shared on TNT Sports’ TikTok channel, Ancelotti put his faith behind Mikel Arteta’s side to finally go all the way.
After Ancelotti picked Arsenal, McCoist followed up by asking: “You fancy Arsenal?”
The Brazil national team coach replied: “I think Arsenal started really well, they built a fantastic team, a really solid team.”
Ancelotti also mentioned he has a soft spot for Arsenal, though not quite in the way die-hard fans would relate to.
“Of course I am a supporter of Arsenal because I have Gabriel,” he said. “But I am a supporter of Tottenham too because we have Richarlison. I support United. I support the Brazilian players.”
Given Gabriel and Richarlison’s ongoing rivalry, it won’t hurt for him to hear his national team manager backing his club over others this season.
