Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has told The Guardian that he has a lot of confidence in Alex Iwobi.
The Italian tactician substituted the former Arsenal winger in the past two Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss has added that he has confidence in the 24-year-old who cost the Toffees £35 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Premier League rivals Arsenal in 2019, as reported by The Guardian.
Ancelotti told The Guardian about Iwobi: “I changed him against Tottenham because he had a little problem with his hamstring.
“Against Southampton I changed him to put more energy on that side and above all to change the system to a line of five.
“It is true he didn’t score, it’s true that he can do better sometimes but it’s also true that I have a lot of confidence in him.”

According to WhoScored, Iwobi has made 18 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton this season, scoring one goal in the process.

Ancelotti’s aforementioned comments are very positive for Iwobi, who is a very good winger and can offer a lot more to Everton.
Of course, the 24-year-old himself needs to step up his game next season, as he should be scoring a few more goals as well as creating more chances for his teammates.
