Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has told The Liverpool Echo that he rates Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli highly.
However, Ancelotti has said that he is not planning to make a move for the Tottenham midfielder when the transfer window opens in January.
Football Insider reported last month that Everton are looking to sign the 24-year-old England international from Premier League rivals Spurs in the January transfer window.
When asked about reported interest in Alli, Ancelotti told The Liverpool Echo: “No, it’s not true. It’s not true. We didn’t talk about Dele Alli. Personally I have a lot of respect for him because he is a fantastic player. But, as I say, he is a Tottenham player and I don’t like to talk about this.”
Dele Alli’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur
Alli has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham and is struggling for playing time under head coach Jose Mourinho at the moment.
The 24-year-old has been left out of the North London club’s Premier League squad at times, and with the team doing well at the moment, he may not get much playing time in the coming weeks and months.
According to WhoScored, the England international has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Premier League and has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Spurs so far this season.
Alli will have a decision to make on his future when the transfer window opens in January.
