Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has told talkSPORT that the club will not sell reported Chelsea and Manchester City target Lucas Digne.

According to a report in ESPN earlier this month, Premier League giants Chelsea and City are interested in signing Digne from Everton in the summer transfer window.

The Blues and the Citizens reportedly see the 26-year-old left-back as an alternative to Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.

However, Everton boss Ancelotti has made it clear that the Toffees will not sell the 26-year-old France international left-back this summer.

Ancelotti told talkSPORT regarding the future of Digne: “Lucas Digne is an important player for us, so there is no way that he or anyone else can leave.”

Everton spell

Digne moved to Everton from Barcelona in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £18 million.

According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old left-back has provided six assists in 29 Premier League matches for the Toffees so far this season.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the France international made 33 starts and two substitute appearances in the league for the Merseyside outfit, scoring four goals and providing four assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
