Everton are pressing ahead with their efforts to bring in a new manager, with Christophe Galtier believed to be a target.
Carlo Ancelotti left Goodison Park for a move back to Real Madrid last week, leaving Everton in the lurch ahead of the transfer window.
A host of names have been linked with the job, but Lille boss Galtier is now one of the key names in the frame.
Everton’s move for Galtier
BeFoot reported earlier this week that Everton had initiated contact with Galtier’s representatives over a possible move for him.
20 Minutes then reported that that Galtier could be landed for just €5million (£4.3million) – which Everton could surely pay.
Nice are interested too, but with Everton making their move this week, it’s clear that they’re working on a potential deal.

Ancelotti’s friendship with Galtier
Galtier just won the Ligue 1 title with Lille against all odds, somehow beating Paris Saint-Germain and their riches to the crown.
In May, Ancelotti was quoted by PSG Talk as saying that Galtier is his friend and he would love to see him win the title – they seemingly struck up a friendship with Ancelotti managed PSG and Galtier was at Saint-Etienne.
Galtier could now end up replacing Ancelotti at Everton, and he will surely speak to the Italian about life at Goodison Park if a move advances.
