Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is expecting an ‘open match’ with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United tomorrow.
Two of the Premier League’s most experienced and respected coaches square off at Goodison Park as Everton look to move third in the Premier League table and one point behind co-leaders Spurs and Liverpool.
But victory is anything but a foregone conclusion because Leeds, so far, have been very unpredictable.
Bielsa’s outfit have scored 14 goals and conceded 17 on their return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.
One thing for sure is that if the Toffees do come away with three points, they’ll have to run because if there’s one area where Leeds excel it’s fitness.
Here’s Ancelotti’s verdict on the game:
He told Everton’s website: “Leeds is a dynamic team. It will be an open match, I think, with a lot of intensity.
“All Marcelo Bielsa teams are like Leeds, they keep high intensity with and without the ball and we expect this kind of game.”
You really wouldn’t back against Leeds winning.
Any team that can score three goals at Anfield and hold Manchester City and Arsenal to a point at Elland Road absolutely need to be respected and Ancelotti – who has come up against Bielsa before – will know that his side will have to play very well to win.
