Estevao Willian’s rapid rise showed no signs of slowing down this weekend after he scored again for Brazil in a 2-0 victory over Senegal.

It has been a smooth transition to Chelsea for the young forward, and he has also quickly become a key figure in the Brazil National Team.

The Brazilian media were full of praise after the friendly, with Estevao catching the eye at both ends of the pitch during an impressive display at the Emirates.

Ancelotti still had no shortage of quality up front, yet the 18-year-old got his chance from the start, lining up alongside Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.

It was the Chelsea youngster who received most of the praise from Ancelotti after the match.

The Italian legend told GE Globo that Brazil’s future looks bright with Estevao in their squad.

He said: “Vinicius can switch positions with Rodrygo because he’s used to it, and Estevao has incredible talent on the right. It’s a surprise to see such a young player with this kind of talent.

“He’s very precise and very incisive. With him, Brazil has a guaranteed future.”

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Rodrygo recently, and would surely take an interest in Vinicius Jr as well if he were ever available.

But Maresca may already have the best of that trio at his disposal, and Estevao is making it harder for him to be left out when club football returns.

Maresca facing pressure to give Estevao more playing time at Chelsea

Maresca has been cautious with Estevao’s minutes, aware that the youngster already has a heavy workload for someone his age. Even so, he will not want to compromise the team’s performance.

He has started just four Premier League matches this season, with Pedro Neto’s form keeping him out of the side up to now.

But with the Portuguese winger dealing with an injury, there may be an opportunity for Estevao to step into a more regular role.

A strong finish to the club season could see him push his way into Brazil’s starting XI for the 2026 World Cup, especially given the growing comparisons to Neymar and what he represents for their future.
