According to The Daily Record, Celtic are interested in signing Starfelt from Rubin Kazan in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old central defender has a release clause, and Celtic are trying to trigger it.
The Sweden international is keen on a move to Celtic in the summer transfer window, but he will have to take a pay-cut to complete the switch to the former Scottish Premiership champions.
Could a transfer happen?
The Scottish Sun reported last week that a fee of £4 million will be enough for Celtic to get a deal done.
If the Hoops want the Sweden international and he himself is keen a transfer to Celtic Park this summer, then a deal could happen.
Starfelt is a good central defender who has been playing in Russia since 2019.
The defender has also played three times for the Sweden national football team.
Celtic were not exactly bad defensively last season, but they could have done better.
The Hoops conceded 29 goals in 38 league games.
