Tony Cascarino has suggested on talkSPORT that reported Tottenham target Danny Ings is better than Liverpool forward Divock Origi.
Rumours have been swirling around that Tottenham are keen to sign Ings and Cascarino made it clear that ‘your career is short’ in terms of wanting to achieve your dreams and playing at the top.
Things didn’t go well for Ings at Liverpool because injuries ruined his ability to showcase his worth, but EuroSport claim that the big boys, including Tottenham, are now keen to add him to their ranks in the summer.
There’s no doubt that Liverpool fans would welcome back a fully fit and firing Ings now, especially ahead of their £10 million [BBC Sport] back up player in Origi.
“Your career is short,” said Cascarino. “It didn’t work out for him at Liverpool and he had two serious bad injuries.
“Liverpool fans will probably be dreaming of having Danny Ings back. Certainly as a player that can make a bit of a difference where looking at Origi and Danny Ings. I know who I would want.
“It’s a tough one because you are questioning someone’s goal [in wanting to play Champions League football] when he is trying to achieve more.”

Whilst Tottenham have ambitions of securing Champions League-chasing Ings’ services, it needs to be remembered that he can get to that target with his current club.
Southampton are sitting 10th in the Premier League table on 29 points and they can potentially move into the top-six with a win at home against Arsenal this evening.
It’s like a traffic jam near the top of the table and just a small positive run could see a team climb up that table.
