Cardiff and Tottenham men crossed over at Paris Saint-Germain.

Mauricio Pochettino is such a well esteemed manager nowadays that he has even overshadowed his impressive playing career.
Pochettino represented Argentina at the World Cup and won trophies in Argentina and Spain.
He also starred at Paris Saint-Germain, and it was here where he made a big impression on current Cardiff City star Sol Bamba.

Bamba, 33, was just trying to establish himself in PSG’s side at the time, and remembers Pochettino fondly.
He commented: “I actually played with Mauricio Pochettino when I was a youngster at Paris Saint-Germain.
“He was clever, physical and had those Spanish street-smarts, knowing when to go down and when to foul.
“When I see him on TV know I can’t believe how far he’s come. But he was brilliant.”

Bamba never quite did make it into PSG’s first team as a regular, playing just one game for the club.
The Ivory Coast centre-back has had a varied career in Scotland, England, Turkey and Italy, playing for Leicester and Leeds before joining Cardiff.
Now a key part of Cardiff’s side, the Bluebirds currently sit in second place in the Championship and are on course to win promotion.
He may finally be reunited with Pochettino in the Premier League, with his old colleague in Tottenham’s dugout.
