Besiktas star Ozughan Ozyakup has been linked with Premier League giants Everton but Championship outfit Cardiff City have made an ambitious bid.

Everton are hedging their bets ahead of the January transfer window with a whole host of players once again linked with a move to Goodison Park.
But one of those, Turkish international Ozughan Ozyakup, appears to have an offer from elsewhere with just a few days until the January transfer window swings open.
According to Hurriyet, Championship promotion chasers Cardiff City have launched a shock £6 million bid for Besiktas’ talismanic playmaker. Needless to say, if Neil Warnock’s side pull off a deal for arguably the best player in Turkish football over the last two years, even big-spending league leaders Wolves would be green with envy.

But if Everton really want to sign the one-time Arsenal youngster in the New Year, and Fotomac claimed they do with The Toffees already holding talks with the player’s agent, they should not really see Cardiff as serious competition.
Because Hurriyet adds that Ozyakup has no real interest in dropping down to the Championship – even if Cardiff are in a good position to be able to call themselves a Premier League club in a few months’ time.

With all due respect to the South Wales giants, the 25-year-old can do a little better. His brilliant performances have inspired Besiktas to the Super Lig title in each of the last two seasons after all and he has also starred in the Champions League this season, Senol Gunes’ side cruising into the knockout rounds.
Then again, the so-called ‘Turkish Zidane’ would be an undisputed star at Cardiff. At Everton, he would be one of a number of gifted midfielders.
