Cardiff City continue to improve under Neil Warnock but they must stay patient if they want to succeed.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock
Cardiff City supporters are understandably feeling optimistic about this season after Neil Warnock’s instant impact has seen them leave the bottom three.
The Bluebirds have taken seven points from nine games and that’s brought them to within eight points of the play-offs, and they’re slowly pulling away from the drop zone.
New signings Sol Bamba and Junior Hoilett have impressed in two wins and a draw which has helped galvanise supporters.

A shocking start to the campaign under Paul Trollope means Cardiff are still a long way off that top six but that doesn’t stop fans from demanding just that from the team.
The Bluebirds’ faithful have seen enough in Warnock’s first three games to make them believe the team is good enough to go on a strong run towards the top of the table and it’s hard to disagree with that.
However, it’s important Cardiff don’t get carried away and they must take it one step at a time.
The Bluebirds are nowhere near play-off hopefuls yet so they should focus on climbing the table position-by-position before they plot their assault on the top six.

Make no mistake, the top six should now be Cardiff City’s target but they must go about that in a game-by-game fashion until they’re in the mix.
Warnock’s new team are yet to be given a set-back and how they deal with that inevitable loss will be a telling fact in how Cardiff will finish come May.
The Championship campaign really is a marathon and Cardiff were far too slow off the start line, so before they can begin to think about the run-in, they need to concentrate on catching up with the pack.
