Cardiff manager Neil Warnock
Sheffield Wednesday prevented Cardiff from their second straight victory under new boss Neil Warnock last night.
The Welsh side opened the scoreline almost immediately in the 9th minute with a superb Peter Whittingham free-kick 25-yards out. Sean Morrison could have put the Bluebirds 2-0 up just before half time but his header was cleared off the line.

Daniel Pudil’s low strike brought the visitors level in the second-half, Cardiff couldn’t do enough to fire themselves back ahead. A great defensive performance from the Bluebirds denied Wednesday from pinching the winner.
The draw for Wednesday now means that Carlos Carvalhal side move up to the play-offs. Wednesday currently sit sixth in the table while Cardiff remain in the relegation zone. The Bluebirds are now up to 22nd.
Cardiff’s Peter Whittingham scores their first goal
Despite being near the bottom, the Bluebirds performance against Wednesday and their victory to Bristol City have shown early signs that Warnock can easily guide Cardiff back up the table. The Welsh team already look a different side to the dismal team that we had previously seen under former manager Paul Trollope.
