Warnock labelled the Robins boss a disgrace while at Rotherham United last season.

New Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has told Sky Sports’ EFL Weekly podcast he’s looking forward to pitting his wits against Bristol City counterpart in next Friday’s televised clash.
Warnock, who was sworn in at the Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday, has famously clashed with Johnson and his father, Gary, in the past.
The most recent incident saw the former Rotherham United boss label Johnson Jnr “a disgrace”, after April’s 1-1 draw between the two sides at Ashton Gate.
According to the Yorkshire Post, Warnock entered his post-match press conference that night with a cut-out of Johnson’s earlier comments in the Bristol Post – which urged his side to win by “aggression, good football or intimidation” – and proceeded to explain how the 34-year-old had done his team talk for him.

Six months on however, it would appear that Warnock has had a severe change of heart.
“I’m looking forward to pitting my wits with Lee,” he told Sky Sports’ EFL Weekly podcast. “He’s been tipped for the Aston Villa job and has got a very good career in front of him.
“He’s spent quite a bit of money on decent players, and yet they got rid of a £14m striker (Jonathan Kodjia) and got one who scores 11 goals for nothing (Tammy Abraham). That’s what you call good management.”

Warnock kept Rotherham in the Championship the odds last season and will be looking to repeat the trick at Cardiff, who sit second from bottom in the standings.
Johnson’s City are fifth, in contrast.
