Manchester City and Manchester United have been kept apart for the semi-finals of the League Cup.
First leg ties to be played week commencing 6th January 2014, second leg week commencing January 20th.
Sunderland v Manchester United
Manchester City v West Ham United
United will face Sunderland after winning 2-0 away at Stoke City. They face Gus Poyet’s Sunderland side in the semi-finals who defeated Chelsea after extra-time.
David Moyes described the draw as ‘tough’, but that he was ‘delighted’ to be there.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini will also be pushing for his first trophy, and may be relieved to have avoided a Sunderland side who beat them at the Stadium of Light earlier this season.
They face Sam Allardyce’s West Ham who beat Tottenham 2-1 at White Hart Lane tonight. Allardyce led Bolton to the final of the competition in 2003 where they lost to Blackburn.
