Fabio Capello has raved about Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to The Sunday Post.

The former Real Madrid, AC Milan, Juventus and England manager has spoken highly of Morelos, and the Italian tactician seems to rate the Rangers star a lot.

Capello has added that the Colombia international striker would be a good signing for Milan, with The Sunday Post reporting that the Italian giants are among the clubs interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old in the summer transfer window.

The report has added that Lille have had a bid of £16 million for Morelos turned down by Rangers, who want as much as £20 million as transfer fee to sell the striker.

Capello told The Sunday Post about Morleos: “From what I have seen of Morelos myself, I think he is a very strong player, both physically and technically.

“I know the club very well. Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini (the club’s sporting and technical directors) are very good at their jobs, and if they are following him, then I am sure they consider him to be an excellent player.”

Rangers stay or exit?

As reported by The Sunday Post, Morelos was left out of the Rangers squad for the Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

With Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten having joined Rangers this summer and Jermain Defoe already at Ibrox, manager Steven Gerrard has options in attack and does not have to rely on Morelos.

While the Gers can afford to sell the striker from a footballing perspective, from a business point of view, they should hold out for as much transfer fee as they can.

Meanwhile, Rangers boss Gerrard has said that he could alternate between goalkeepers Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin.

Gerrard told Herald Scotland: “Come the end of the season we’ll need to see how it pans out but don’t be surprised if people are rested and we go for a different keeper for a different game.”
