Cape Verde’s Vozinha continued his terrific form during the Round of 32 matchup vs. Argentina.

Cape Verde’s 40-year-old goalkeeper, Vozinha, made a name for himself after putting in a stunning performance during his team’s 2026 World Cup opener against Spain.

The World Cup sensation continued that form during Cape Verde’s close 3-2 defeat at the hands of Argentina in the Round of 32.

Vozinha surpasses Cristiano Ronaldo’s World Cup knockout round dribbles

Despite playing in the sixth World Cup of his phenomenal career, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s performances in the knockout stages remain a major discussion point.

While Ronaldo grabbed his first-ever knockout goal vs. Croatia in Portugal’s Round of 32 win, he was far from the best player on the field.

In fact, it was proven when Cape Verde’s Vozinha surpassed Ronaldo’s successful dribbles stat in the knockout stages.

Vozinha completed two successful dribbles against Argentina as a goalkeeper and has already overtaken the 5x Ballon d’Or winner in that department.

Unfortunately, Vozinha’s team couldn’t advance to the next round despite pushing the defending champion to the brink in arguably the greatest game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
