Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to their club posting about beating Arsenal last season amidst these rumours about Emile Smith Rowe.
Dean Smith’s side did the double over Arsenal last season – 3-0 at the Emirates and then 1-0 at Villa Park.
And on Tuesday, Villa’s admin was looking back on ‘the best of 20/21’, by highlighting their performance against the Gunners on home soil.
Villa fans reacted to the post and think the admin was being clever posting such content whilst these Smith Rowe rumours are flying about.
Those in the Midlands have had two bids rejected from Arsenal for their creative talent, as the London outfit aren’t seemingly interested in selling one of their prized assets.
Smith Rowe is still in discussions about signing a new contract at the Emirates, but whilst that seemingly stalls, Villa are trying to lure him towards their direction.
In truth, if a deal does happen then it would be a big surprise and one of the more unexpected moves of the window.
Although it has to be said, with Villa going back in for a second time for the England U21 international, it does beg the question as to whether they know more than what’s being told.
Either way, a lot more should come into fruition during these coming weeks when players return for pre-season.
