Arsenal fans on Twitter were wowed by William Saliba’s display after he helped Nice record a 1-0 win over Lens from the weekend.
The 19-year-old hasn’t exactly had his way at Arsenal since his £27 million move [BBC Sport] in 2019, but he is on the road to proving people wrong it seems.
Arsenal supporters were impressed with what the ball-playing centre-back produced during his latest display, as some feel he should be doing that in North London.
A lot was made of how Mikel Arteta did or didn’t use Saliba and it remains to be seen whether his decision to loan him out pays off.
Whilst the Gunners have had a number of centre-backs on their books this season, most of them haven’t been good enough for the club, which then resulted in cries for Saliba to be handed an opportunity.
That didn’t happen, but Arsenal supporters do feel that Saliba is building himself for the future.
There’s no doubt that if he continues to put in strong displays out on loan then the spotlight will only shine brighter on Arteta.
