Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to footage of Emile Smith Rowe and Phil Foden coming out to train together with England’s senior side for the first time.
From repping England at the Under-16’s level to now donning the same colours for the men’s team, it has been some journey for the duo.
Whilst Foden has been a regular for England for some while now, this is the first time Arsenal’s academy product is getting a call.
There is a picture circulating on social media of a baby-faced Smith Rowe and Foden, probably when they were 15, in England kits and with their arms locked around each other.
Well, when coming out to training for England, the duo replicated that picture, which warmed the heart of the Arsenal faithful.
Many youngsters have the talent in their boots when they are teenagers.
But trying to take those steps up that ladder is pretty hard, yet Smith Rowe and Foden can count themselves as the very few lucky ones.
If the Hale-End star is handed minutes by Gareth Southgate, then for the first time since they were kids, both Smith Rowe and Foden can link-up with one another on the field of play.
Alongside the likes of Jack Grealish and Mason Mount, they are some of the best creative talents and ball-carriers in the country.
