Dele Alli has criticised his own performance against Chelsea after Tottenham lost 3-0 to their west London rivals.

Speaking to Sky Sports via Football Daily, the England international slammed his display after the full-time whistle. Alli, like most of the Spurs players on the day, played poorly against Chelsea.

The UEFA Champions League holders scored three goals in the second half as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were doomed to a second 3-0 loss in the Premier League in as many weeks.

The result left Tottenham seventh in the Premier League standings, with north London rivals Arsenal next for Spurs.

Indeed, whilst Tottenham are favourites heading into that fixture, performances from certain players will likely have to pick up. And Alli was critical of how he played on the day against Chelsea.

The Mauricio Pochettino signing said: “I am not happy with my own performances, I know that I have to perform better and I owe that to our supporters too.”

It’s a brutal assessment from Alli and one most fans are thankful for. But for some supporters on social media, they are eager for the midfielder to improve his overall game following a few seasons of poor form.

Here’s what some Spurs fans had to say about how Alli assessed his performance against Chelsea on Twitter…
