Some Arsenal fans on social media have finally been giving Willian credit after his performance against Benfica.
It’s fair to say that Willian isn’t many Arsenal fans’ favourite player after the start to the season he’s had, failing to score a single goal since joining the club and not registering an assist since the opening day of the season.
The Brazilian has become something of a scapegoat for the London outfit in recent months, but even the most hardened critic of Willian had to admit that he played well against Benfica.
Indeed, supporters on social media were finally willing to give him credit for his performance against the Portuguese outfit.
The winger finally notched another assist, setting up Kieran Tierney’s equaliser, and he finally looked like a player worthy of playing for the Gunners.
Hopefully, this sparks a resurgence in Willian’s season, the Brazilian clearly has the talent to be a factor at Arsenal for the remainder of the campaign, and perhaps this can give him the confidence needed to kick on.
