Harry Kane is staying at Tottenham Hotspur, but another big player might be going.

Tanguy Ndombele is being linked with a move away from North London.

According to The Athletic, the France international decided to quit once interim coach Ryan Mason left him on the bench for the EFL Cup final defeat by Manchester City in April.

Instead, Mason, who had replaced Jose Mourinho on a short-term basis, started Harry Winks and never even brought Ndombele into the game despite Pep Guardiola’s side dominating the midfield.

The Athletic claimed it was ‘immensely painful‘ for the former Lyon powerhouse.

And even some Tottenham fans are sympathetic. Here’s how they reacted to Wednesday’s report on Twitter:

Elite

Ndombele has some pretty massive, elite clubs chasing him – well, he believes he has anyway.

According to journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke, the player is being courted by the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Talent wise, yes he probably could excel at any one of those clubs, but the truth is that none of them will go near him.

Ndombele has been a bit of a flop since joining the North Londoners in a club-record £63 million deal two years ago and although the talent is there, the attitude often isn’t.

That’s evident by The Athletic’s report that he decided to down leave the club after not being picked for a final. Disappointing as that may be, it isn’t a valid reason to want to quit.

He doesn’t deserve a bigger move than Tottenham right now and until his attitude improves, he’ll probably never get one.
