Arsenal fans have quickly swatted aside rumours in Defensa Central that they could swap Alexandre Lacazette for Gareth Bale.
Lacazette for Bale?
A report from Spain yesterday claimed that Arsenal were looking at bringing in the Real Madrid winger.
With Lacazette’s contract running down, it was claimed that the Gunners could make a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur attacker.
But Arsenal supporters have been left shocked by the reports coming from Spain.
And they have quickly batted aside suggestions of any possible swap deal.
An unlikely deal
It has to be said that Arsenal trading Lacazette for Bale does look extremely unlikely.
If Lacazette does leave Arsenal, which looks increasingly likely, they will surely be in the market for a new number nine rather than another winger.
Arsenal also would be hard pressed to afford Bale’s wage demands.
The Welshman is on huge money at Madrid, which is part of the reason why the Spanish club have found it so difficult to shift him on in recent years.
Arsenal would almost certainly like to add a player of Bale’s quality to their squad, especially given the impact he made in the Premier League just last year.
But Gunners fans are right here, any swap deal for Lacazette would be one of the most surprising transfers in recent memory, if it was to happen.
