Douglas Luiz and Emiliano Martinez have taken to Twitter in furious fashion following Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.
The Villans duo expressed their unhappiness at Michael Oliver’s decision to award the Red Devils a penalty in the 60th minute.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were awarded a spot-kick after Douglas Luiz appeared to trip Paul Pogba in the area.
However, replays seem to show the France international tripped himself up.

Douglas Luiz’s tweet translates to: ‘I see this video, I can’t believe it was a penalty, I always support fairer football, with fewer mistakes, but then I stop and see these types of moves. If we have VAR to help, LET’S start using it CORRECTLY, these mistakes can define the future of clubs!’
It was a harsh call, and one which seemed to kill Villa’s momentum after Bertrand Traore had equalised only seconds before in the 58th minute.
Douglas Luiz was clearly in no mood to forgive and forget Oliver’s decision last night.
The former Manchester City maestro also retweeted a video of Pogba appearing to tell Luke Shaw to dive, after Matty Cash lunged in.
The 22-year-old’s initial tweet also showed slow-motion versions of the penalty incident.
Clearly, the Villa No.6 was keen to clear his name, and place Pogba’s unsporting behaviour under the spotlight.
Dean Smith’s side sit sixth in the Premier League following their first defeat after a five-game unbeaten run.
They missed a great chance to move into the Champions League places, although you must admit they were hard done by at Old Trafford.
