Don Hutchison has taken to Twitter to express his surprise that Douglas Costa did not end up in the Premier League, with Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers having been linked with him.
As announced on Bayern Munich’s official website on Monday, Costa has joined the German and European giants on loan from Juventus.
The 30-year-old winger was on the books of Bayern from 2015 until 2018 before he made a permanent move to Juventus after a loan spell at the Italian powerhouse in 2017-18.
The Brazil international was linked with Premier League duo Leeds and Wolves before he made the move back to Bayern on transfer deadline day.
According to Alfredopedulla.com on September 30, both Wolves and Leeds were offered the chance to sign the Brazilian, as covered by HITC Sport here.
While Costa did not fancy moving to Wolves, Leeds did not want to sign the winger, according to the report.
Costa is a brilliant winger, and although he was not at his best at Juventus, a return to familiar surroundings at Bayern could see him get back to his best.
