Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter in stunned fashion after Theo Walcott celebrated his goal against the Gunners last night.
The England international – now back at Southampton on a season-long loan from Everton – opened the scoring with a delicate dink over Bernd Leno.
After spending a significant 12 years at Arsenal between 2006–2018, some might’ve expected the forward’s celebration to be a muted one.
However, Walcott looked absolutely delighted to score, running off to celebrate enthusiastically with his teammates.
In our view, the Saints attackers did nothing wrong.
Of course, if he completely rubbed Arsenal supporters’ noses in it like Emmanuel Adebayor famously once did, then that’s another story.
However, all Walcott did was celebrate a goal for the side whose academy made him – there was no disrespect on show at all, in our opinion.

Additionally, the 31-year-old used to celebrate goals for Arsenal against Southampton, so at least he’s consistent.
In truth, Arsenal have bigger things to worry about instead of an ex-player celebrating his goal against them.
One problem is on it’s way to being solved after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally ended his goal drought.

However, there’s clearly a discipline issue at the Emirates. After Gabriel Magalhães was sent off, Arsenal have now received three red cards in their last five Premier League outings.
Of course, things are frustrating right now. However, the players must remain focused and professional.
Let’s see what the Arsenal fans have been saying about Walcott…
