Stoke City fans have taken to Twitter in disbelief after it was revealed that Crystal Palace only paid £500,000 to sign Jack Butland on Deadline Day, as reported by The Sun.
The Eagles swooped to sign the England international with just hours until the transfer window closed.
Roy Hodgson has been reunited with the shot-stopper who he handed an England debut to, and for an absolute bargain.
What makes the deal all the more impressive is the fact that Stoke had slapped a £23 million price tag on the 27-year-old’s head just 15 months ago according to the same report.
That means the south Londoners got themselves an excellent deal, and one that some Stoke fans on Twitter simply can’t get their heads around.

In total, Butland made 168 appearances for the Potters, keeping exactly 50 clean sheets while winning the club’s Player of the Year award on two occasions.
He arrives at Selhurst Park seemingly as Wayne Hennessey’s replacement.

The Wales international is out of contract at the end of the campaign and is also now injured until February according to The Evening Standard.
Let’s see what the Stoke fans on Twitter have been saying after Palace completed the bargain deadline day swoop…
