Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Sky Sports posted a video of Davinson Sanchez fouling Alexandre Lacazette in the 2-1 win over Tottenham.

The panel, consisting of Steven Warnock, Sue Smith and ex-referee Dermot Gallagher, were busy discussing the penalty incident from Sunday’s clash.

Gallagher said he felt Lacazette was fortunate to win the spot-kick, before going on to say that it was a ‘glitch in the system’ as VAR failed to intervene.

Like many Arsenal fans below, we’re not sure why Michael Oliver’s decision is still being so forensically analysed.

If a player makes a pass in the middle of the pitch, and is then caught by a late challenge, it’s still a freekick – regardless of whether the pass found a man or not.

In this case, despite Lacazette getting his shot off – albeit a mistimed one – Sanchez still flies into the back of him and brings him down.

There are no arguments, and the Arsenal fans seem baffled that Oliver’s decision is still being debated.

We can’t remember the handball from Erik Pieters in the 1-1 draw against Burnley being spoken about this much, despite the fact that was a stonewall penalty that wasn’t given.

Let’s see what the Arsenal fans have been saying about the tweet from Sky Sports…
