DAC Dunajska Streda manager Adrian Gula has tipped his former player and Inter Milan superstar Milan Skriniar to one day sign for a club like Manchester City despite reports of a move to Tottenham.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Slovakian-born coach gave his two cents on which clubs Skriniar could sign for in the future should the centre-back decide to leave Inter in 2023, with Gula manager of MSK Zilna when the Slovakian international was coming through the club’s ranks and where the defender made his professional debut in football.

With Skriniar now one of the best defenders in football at Inter, interest is high in the 27-year-old superstar, who this summer was heavily linked with a move to PSG at a reported £70m, though the centre-back remained in Italy with the Nerrazzuri despite strong interest in the defender from the likes of Tottenham.

Antonio Conte’s side have been reportedly chasing Skriniar for quite some time, with Chelsea also reportedly interested in a move for the defender in January, however, the Serie A star’s former boss Gula has tipped City to make a move for his former pupil in the coming months.

The 47-year-old manager said on Skriniar’s future: “My opinion is that sooner or later he will go away. Sirens like those of Paris or Manchester City cannot be refused for long. He has a great passion for Inter, it’s a great club with a lot of history.”

Gula added on his former defensive superstar: “But, going to a big club of that type would be a stimulus that I hope happens for him. We talked about it many times when he was young, we talked about his dreams: they are dreams that can be realised in teams like those.”

Manchester City signing Skriniar would be quite the shock for Tottenham

City are one of the smartest ran football clubs in Europe, yet even for their standards, signing Skriniar would be quite the surprising move for the Manchester giants given their incredible depth in the centre-back position that this summer saw the addition of Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji.

Indeed, whilst City could easily move for Skriniar, Pep Guardiola and his team likely acknowledge that adding another world-class defender to the squad could cause a serious imbalance at the back, and because of this, Tottenham could still well be in the race for the Slovak international.
