Leeds still stand to net a fee for defender this summer.
Leeds’ Giuseppe Bellusci
Last week a report emerged in the Yorkshrie Evening Post that Giuseppe Bellusci’s contract had been cancelled by Leeds United.
This turned out to be incorrect, a mix up, with his registration purely cancelled with the FA, so he could embark on a season long loan at Empoli.
It would have been a fitting end to Bellusci’s Leeds career, with the unpopular Italian having worn out his welcome at Elland Road – but cancelling his deal would have been a mistake.
It would have deprived Leeds a seven figure financial sum, which they are set to net upon the conclusion of this season.

GianlucaDiMarzio.com reported in January 2016 that Massimo Cellino rejected enquiries from the Italian club for the defender worth between £2-3 million, declaring he wanted £4 million to part with Bellusci mid-season.
In hindsight it was likely a mistake not to take the money on offer, but Leeds should still be confident of getting upwards of £2 million for his signature this summer.
Despite his faults, Bellusci has been a regular in Serie A this season, stepping up to the challenge.
As the most booked player in the division, it has not been easy for the centre-back, but he has done his chances of securing a permanent move no harm at all, to Empoli or elsewhere.
