One nation saw almost 100 per cent of their visa applications to enter Canada legally for the 2026 World Cup rejected.
Thousands of football fans from across the globe have flocked to the USA, Canada and Mexico in order to to support their country.
However, some nations have had difficulties in obtaining visas, with Canada almost flat-out rejecting fans from one nation while accepting less than 50 per cent overall.

Canada rejected a large number of fan visas from Ghana
The USA have come under fire for rejecting visas from several nations but Canada have been just as strict.
As per data obtained by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Ghanian fans only had an 11 per cent approval rate for visa applications, which explained their low turnout for their win against Panama.
Colombia had the highest rate of approvals, as 69 per cent of their fans were granted visa applications while the number of fans who applied for electronic travel authorization (eTA visas) that were accepted was 96 per cent in comparison to the 32 per cent that required visas.
To make matters more confusing, Colombia had no group stage games scheduled to play in any of the Canadian venues.
In order to help the application, the Canadian government requested that all fans included ‘FIFA World Cup 2026’ in their forms to help make their request more likely to be accepted.
Can Ghana play Canada in the World Cup?
Canada have already learned who they will play in the round of 32 while Ghana will see if they can make it through to the knockout stages.
They have four points from two games after beating Panama before securing a goalless draw with England.
There is a chance that both teams could go up against each other in the round of 16 but there are no guarantees that this would be in Canada, or, if the pathway will align them up with each other.
