Jason Cundy loves the idea of what Mikel Arteta would be able to do with Marcus Rashford if Arsenal do target a transfer for the Manchester United forward, speaking on talkSPORT.
Rashford is emerging as a potential end-of-season goal for Arteta as his Old Trafford career hits new lows this season. The England international is struggling to force his way into Ralf Rangnick’s plans, and gave nothing at Manchester City last week to suggest he should play.
He entered the action at the Etihad Stadium as a 64th-minute substitute, and Rangnick let him take a central position. But Rashford cut a disconnected figure and proved anonymous as the Red Devils sought an equaliser, before going on to lose 4-1 during an abject display.

Rashford has now made 24 appearances in all competitions between Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Rangnick’s spells in charge this term. But the 24-year-old has only managed five goals and two assists. He has also only started 14 games, with just nine in the Premier League.
Arsenal consider Rashford transfer amid Manchester United struggles
Rashford is now considering his future with Manchester United, having grown unhappy at his lack of minutes, per The Guardian. He still hopes his situation improves, but is weighing up if things will improve next season once Rangnick’s interim spell as the head coach ends.
Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham are tracking Rashford’s situation at Manchester United in view of a transfer, 90min report. Atletico Madrid have also registered their interest in a summer deal, when his contract will have a year left but with a 12-month option to extend.

Cundy loves idea of what ‘Arteta would do’ with Rashford
Ex-Chelsea and Tottenham ace Cundy loves the idea of what Arteta could do with Rashford at Arsenal if the Spaniard does target a transfer for the Manchester United forward. But he could face a £70m price, per the Mirror, who add Rashford accepts his form is not enough.
“It doesn’t help that, right now, he’s at a club where Manchester United are not going anywhere fast,” Cundy said. “There have been managerial changes and it’s not been a happy time at United this season.
“I do feel he might have to move on. Would he go to Arsenal? Can you imagine what Mikel Arteta would do with him? Imagine him at Arsenal right now. Why couldn’t he go there?”
“It’s stale there,” he added. “Sometimes players just have to move on, they’ve got to find a new, fresh start. Rashford is Man United through and through? So was Danny Welbeck and he had to move on eventually.”
