West Brom beat Portsmouth in that last match, securing survival by a single point and prompting wild celebrations at the Hawthorns as the fans ran onto the pitch to join the players.

After 28 fixtures that year the West Midlands outfit had 21 points. At the same stage this time around they have 20 points after losing 2-1 at home to Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

Manager Alan Pardew is under lots of pressure with seven points separating his team and survival currently and unfortunately a member of that great escape squad of 13 years ago, Geoff Horsfield, is doubtful whether this current crop have the same characteristics to repeat the feat.
