It’s safe to say that Nahki Wells’ Burnley career hasn’t gone to plan so far.
The striker joined Burnley from Huddersfield Town late in the summer transfer window but has yet to make a senior appearance for his new club, with an injury that he suffered shortly after his arrival hampering his progress.
Wells is determined to make an impact for Burnley and has been named on the bench for the club in the Premier League recently.
The 27-year-old enhanced his case for involvement by finding the net in a behind closed doors U23 friendly against Ipswich Town this week, with Jonathan Walters also on target in a 2-1 win, as reported by the club’s official website.
With Burnley playing well, it could be difficult for Wells to force his way into the starting lineup, with Chris Wood a useful outlet up front even though he hasn’t been especially prolific this season.
However, given that Burnley have a host of fixtures to come over the next few weeks, Wells could be provided with chances to prove himself and turn his spell at the club into a successful one.
