Indeed, Leeds play against Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in consecutive games around Christmas, and that’s the period where games begin to come thick and fast.
There’s long-been a theory about Marcelo Bielsa’s teams burning out, and while that theory didn’t ring true last season, you have to feel that after this December run-in, Leeds’ players may be struggling physically.
Leeds may have finished in the top-half last season, but as Sheffield United showed in 2020/21, second-season syndrome is a real thing, and this December run certainly won’t help the Whites in their quest to avoid a drop-off in results.
