Tottenham prospect made his England under-17 debut yesterday.
Danny Rose has become a fan favourite at Tottenham for his committed performances under Mauricio Pochettino and he hopes to have several years left in him.
He needs to stay at the top of his game because his long term successor could already be at the club.
Teenager Dennis Cirkin is making a big impression, and yesterday made his debut for England’s under-17 side.
Cirkin started at left-back in a 3-2 victory for England over France.
Unlike Rose who was signed for Tottenham from Leeds, Cirkin is making his way through Spurs’ academy.
He was born in Ireland but has lived in England since he was three, previously featuring for the Three Lions’ under-16 side.
Yesterday he stepped up to the under-17s, the latest in a series of milestones for the 16-year-old.
He recently featured in Tottenham’s FA Youth Cup run, and he has been a regular for the under-18s this season, scoring twice.
Cirkin has also featured for Spurs in the UEFA Youth League at under-19 level. Last month he played for the under-23s against Athletic Bilbao.
The youngster is a little way of challenging for the first team, but he will take inspiration from the progress of Oliver Skipp this season.
Danny Rose and Ben Davies could soon have a new challenger for their position.
