The Celtic forward would be perfect for Tottenham Hotspur but Everton are looking to steal a march on their rivals.

According to a recent report from the Sun, Everton are ready to break their transfer record in order to bring Moussa Dembele to Goodison Park this summer, but can Tottenham Hotspur really sit back and watch the young Frenchman choose a club other than their own for the second successive summer?
Prior to the forward’s Celtic move, Tottenham had been strongly linked with a swoop for a player who would have added considerable fire-power to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, potentially forming a world-class partnership with Harry Kane.
As reported by the Guardian back in January 2016, Tottenham had looked on course for a £6million deal only to refuse Fulham’s request for an immediate loan back until the summer. Instead of reigniting their interest a few months on, Spus stepped back allowing Celtic to swoop and the rest is history.
Dembele scored 32 goals in 49 matches for the Bhoys last season, leaving Tottenham fans to wonder what might have been.
Now the 20-year-old could be on the move again, although it will take big money to force Celtic’s hand, and Tottenham’s place in next season’s Champions League could offer them a big advantage if they want to bring Dembele back to London.

Quite simply, if the French international leaves Scotland for Everton this summer, questions have to be asked as to why Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy didn’t rectify the club’s earlier mistake.
Everything is hypothetical for now, but Dembele could be the signing that ensures silverware returns to Tottenham’s trophy cabinet next season and they should be pushing to the front of the queue for hi signature, not letting Everton benefit as Celtic did before them.
