West Brom face a gruelling schedule with their manager under intense pressure.
West Bromwich Albion have gone ten games without a victory across all competitions and a glance at the Baggies’ upcoming schedule suggests that Tony Pulis’ time in charge of the club could soon be coming to an end.
It is clear that West Brom need a boost from somewhere, with the club languishing in 16th place in the Premier League having scored just nine goals so far this season.
Once the international break is over West Brom have three games in the Premier League this month and there appears a genuine prospect that they could lose all three, which would surely culminate in Pulis losing his job.
First up is a home game against Chelsea on Saturday and, while Antonio Conte’s side haven’t been at their scintillating best for much of this campaign, they will still be confident of taking all three points at The Hawthorns.
Then follows a trip to face Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
Although Mauricio Pochettino may elect to rotate his side a little in the middle of a hectic schedule, Tottenham will still represent a very difficult proposition for Pulis’ team, who are unlikely to pose many problems for a well-organised defence.
Then West Brom host Newcastle and, with the Magpies having coped rather well so far on their return to the Premier League, this will also be a daunting prospect for Pulis and could be his final game in charge.
On many occasions Pulis has succeeded by setting his side up with a defensive mindset to limit the threat of the opposition but now wins are a necessity and he can no longer afford to be quite so negative in his approach. Time is running out very fast.
