Chelsea reportedly lead the race for Manchester United’s Luke Shaw, but is this how Tottenham Hotspur could beat them to the left-back?

Shaw is tipped to leave Old Trafford after once again being publicly criticised by manager Jose Mourinho following the 2-0 FA Cup victory against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 22-year-old is a Blues fan and was close to joining the club in the summer of 2014 before eventually making the switch to the Red Devils instead.
How Spurs could win the race
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Shaw themselves, with speculation that Danny Rose could move the other way.

While Rose could be used as a bargaining chip, perhaps the best way for Tottenham to beat their West London rivals to the left-back is by winning the race for the top four.
Currently Spurs hold a five-point advantage in fourth over fifth-placed Chelsea, which would see them qualify for the Champions League for next season ahead of the Blues and, if anything could tempt Shaw, arguably that would be it.
