Darren Bent has given his opinion on Twitter about Rangers star Glen Kamara’s three-game ban.
The Rangers midfielder has been slapped with a suspension following a tunnel incident in a Europa League defeat by Slavia Prague at Ibrox last month.
Kamara has been found guilty of assaulting Ondrej Kudela in the tunnel after the game.
But the original incident was sparked on the field after the Rangers player – and team-mate Bongani Zungu – heard Kudela direct a racial slur at Kamara.
The Slavia player has been hit with a 10-match ban but the fact that Kamara will also serve a suspension has puzzled quite a lot of people on Twitter.
And Bent is one of them. Here’s how the former Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur hitman reacted to the sanction:
The former Arsenal midfielder’s lawyer, Aamer Anwar, said live on Sky Sports yesterday that his client was originally banned for five games, but that he successfully had it reduced to three on appeal.
Anwar added that Kamara was ‘disappointed’ with UEFA’s ‘bare minimum’ of a 10-match punishment was issued to the 34-year-old Czech defender.
