Joao joins a team in the relegation zone which have been beaten twice by Leeds this season in the league and cup, and have won only one of their last nine Championship games.
Sheffield Wednesday are in sixth place, on the edge of the play-offs, six points behind Leeds United.

If Joao can make an impact it will endear himself to both his parent club and his loan side, and provide a platform for him to kick on over the rest of the campaign.
The striker scored in the League Cup against Arsenal last season and has been unlucky not to feature more often this season. It will not be easy for him to get on the scoresheet against a resolute Leeds defence, but he has plenty of motivation to do so.
