Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been full of praise for reported target Nicolas Gonzalez after his performance for Argentina against Chile.
The attacker failed to score against Chile as his side laboured to a 1-1 draw, but he continuously got into good positions and could have scored a couple on another day.
Gonzalez was critical of his own performance after the game, but Tottenham fans seemed to think he did quite well.
To be fair, we can understand why Spurs fans liked the look of him. He made a number of very clever runs, and while the end-product lacked, his all-round game was solid.
If he came to Tottenham you have to feel that he’d score buckets, especially with Harry Kane providing service in a similar way he does with Heung-min Son.
Of course, whether or not Spurs sign Gonzalez remains to be seen, but based on his performance in the Copa America, he’d be a good fit for Tottenham and fans already seem to like him.
