Speaking to ESPN, former MLS star Herculez Gomez has been discussing his fellow countryman Weston McKennie and recent links to Spurs.
The American midfielder has been linked with Tottenham for quite some time now after the likes of Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici arrived at the club.
Given Conte and Paratici’s links to Juventus, McKennie has often been touted as a player who is on the north London club’s radar, and Gomez believes that this is a transfer that could come off.

Gomez tips McKennie for Spurs
The pundit says that he could see McKennie joining Tottenham.
“Weston McKennie, Antonio Conte has been wanting McKennie for quite some time and guess what? Juventus want to sell him and they need those funds.
“They’re going to lose money so they need to make that up, and Weston McKennie does have some market value right now. With his attribute of scoring goals, he’s such a weapon on set-pieces. The Premier League loves this type of player, McKennie is made for the Premier League and I can see this happening,” Gomez said.
Would make sense
Sometimes there are transfers that just make sense, and this is one of them.
There aren’t many dots to connect here. Spurs could do with more depth and gumption in the midfield, Paratici is a fan of McKennie and Juventus want to get rid of the player.
All of those factors point towards this being a transfer that could be on the cards in January, and recent reports do indicate that Spurs hold an active interest in this player.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks as the winter transfer window edges closer and closer.
