Rangers are one of three clubs interested in signing Jack Marriott from Peterborough United this summer, reports Sky Sports.

Posh manager Steve Evans recently admitted that a club from Scotland had shown interest in the 23-year-old and it now seems like it is Gers.

The Scotsman reports that any side that wants to sign Marriott will have to pay the striker’s £6m asking price, with £4m offers for the former Luton man rejected during the January transfer window.

Steven Gerrard shakes hands with Dave King as he is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Yet Rangers spent £8m in total last summer to bring six new players to Ibrox, plus another two signed as free agents and three more as loans.

Unless the hierarchy at the Glasgow outfit have found new boss Steven Gerrard significantly more funds to spend this time around, it would seem like a reckless decision to sanction such a large proportion of the budget on one forward.
