Ryan Bertrand has emerged as the left-back Tottenham Hotspur hope to sign if Danny Rose completes his expected switch to Manchester United this summer, according to the Express.

The England international is valued at around £25 million by the Saints, with both Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers thought to be interested in Bertrand as well.

Do Newcastle stand a chance?

Spurs have the advantage of probably being able to offer Champions League football to the defender next season, with the North London club currently fourth in the Premier League table and five points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea with three matches to play.
