The Paris Saint-Germain No.7 raced towards Yassine Bounou’s goal as France led Morocco 1-0 in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening, only for Amrabat to come out of nowhere and rob him of possession.
It was a terrific challenge from the Morocco international, although some have asked whether Mbappe will be fit to face Argentina on Sunday as he stayed down holding his foot, with Hugo Lloris eventually kicking the ball out of play.

As things stand, Mbappe seems okay to face Argentina in the World Cup final this Sunday.
The 23-year-old was left screaming in pain after Amrabat’s crunching challenge, and was even forced to change his left Nike boot as a result of the tackle.
Stuart Pearce – who commentated on the game for talkSPORT – stated that Mbappe’s laces were “shredded” following the incident involving the Morocco international.
The France international was able to see out the 90 minutes despite damaging his left foot, and even managed to tee up Randal Kolo Muani for France’s second goal following some wonderful footwork inside the box.
Interestingly, Mbappe missed training in the buildup to France’s 2-1 win over England in the quarter-final after complaining of a slight ankle issue, and also took it easy in a session before the 2-0 win over Morocco.
Therefore, seeing as it was his ankle which took a whack from Amrabat, we wouldn’t be surprised if Didier Deschamps tells him to miss training entirely ahead of Sunday’s showpiece event.
For now, though, Mbappe is fit and available to start for France against Argentina.
