Emre Can is unlikely to feature against Manchester City and with Jordan Henderson suspended, Liverpool have problems in central midfield.

There is some bad news for Liverpool ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second-leg with Manchester City as Emre Can will be missing through injury.
The Liverpool Echo says that Can is still struggling with a back problem, although the club have played down reports that the midfielder will miss the rest of the season.

This is less of a blow for Saturday’s (April 7) Merseyside derby with Everton – a game in which the Reds could well rest players in any case and captain Jordan Henderson can continue in the role – but will be when they travel to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday (April 10).
That is because after picking up a yellow card in the 3-0 first-leg victory at Anfield, Henderson will now be suspended for the tie in Manchester.

With Adam Lallana also sidelined with a hamstring issue, manager Jurgen Klopp is left with just three available options in his midfield three; James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Both Can and Henderson are effective figures at the base of the trio when Klopp’s side are looking to press high and break on the counter, so who will be given the task in their absence remains to be seen.
